HIV/AIDS Counseling, Care, Support and Awareness Training

The project organizes these trainings to create awareness in community youths about HIV phenomena in the society today and how to go about it.

It has so far organized to mega trainings in 2013 and 2016 and sofa 414 youths (148 males and 266 females) and out of the 414, 285 received certificates after the trainings. Currently, the youths are disseminating the information they have learnt to the communities they leave.

The project aims at all youths in the catchment area knowing their HIV status and helping them with ways on how to seek for help in case they are infected, talks on prevention and positive living. The activity has not only benefited the youths but also other people in the community. This has been organized in areas of Kabalagala, Namuwongo, Gaba and Bunga.

Through this activity,351 people (196 Females and 163 males) in the project catchment area have been counseled and tested.

The project formed HIV desks at every centre in the 5 points in the catchment area. These are responsible for giving information about HIV and AIDS, identifying people living with HIV and AIDS in dire need, who get support from the project in form of home care packages. These include 4kgs of Sugar, 4kgs of Nutritious porridge, 2kgs of Rice, 2 bars of soap, 1ltr of cooking oil. The program has worked on 65 (8 males and 57 females) in the catchment area.
